There are a lot of products, chemicals, and gadgets that are sold in order to help you deal with a clogged toilet. While it might be tempting to give all of them a try, it might be easier to simply know when it is time to go ahead and call in a professional plumber. This way, you will be able to save yourself from frustration, a lot of lost money, and a potentially large mess.
The Clog Does Not Improve With Suction
Grabbing a plunger to suction out the clog is usually one of the first things people do to clear up the problem. Depending on the size of the clog and the quality of the plunger, it might take several attempts to finally break it free. Even if it takes multiple times, you should still be able to see a little bit of movement, or progress, after each attempt with the plunger. If everything in the toilet seems to be at a complete standstill, it might be a problem that is simply too big for your household plunger to handle. You will need to call in a professional plumber to tackle this issue. He or she may have to send a tool, commonly referred to as a snake, down the drain line for the toilet, which will need to be removed prior to doing that.
The Toilet Continuously Clogs
Even if you have been able to break apart the clog in the toilet each time it happens, if it is happening more times than not, you will want to seek out the assistance of a skilled plumber. Unless someone in your house, such as a small child who is still learning, is trying to flush too much toilet paper down the toilet, there should not be consistent clogs. There could also be a small toy or another object that was flushed without you know it, as that could cause multiple clogs that need help breaking apart. A professional plumber can send a mini camera through the drain line in an attempt to locate the exact problem.
After considering those two points, you should have a much easier time determining when it is time to put down the plunger and call for reinforcements. A skilled plumber should have little trouble getting your toilet back to its former glory in no time at all. This way, you will be able to use it without fearing what will come next once you flush it.Share
